The word “integral” refers to a vision of well-being which integrates all aspects of our lives. There are four inter-dependent aspects of human existence: biology, consciousness, inter-personal relationships, and our interaction with community and environment. Each of these contributes to our state of health or disease. In modern times the expansion of consciousness is the key factor that drives the entire process of integral development. The full development of our inner life can directly address and heal mental distress and its reflection in our body, enhance personal relationships, optimize recuperative capacities, bring serenity and wisdom to aging and death, and most importantly propel us towards achieving our greatest potential.
